1. Scroll buffer support? Necessary? 
   Linux's console provides Shift-PageUp/Down for scroll buffer
   But GNU screen already has this feature, so if you need scroll back support, just
   run screen in CCE(screen also supports multiple windows).  
   
2. Port input method engine to www.openi18n.org's IIIMF
   let CCE use the input server, works in X too
