How to build CVSNT from CVS sources ================================================= Created 2006-01-22 Bo Berglund In order to build CVSNT from the CVS sources you need to do this: TOOLS ----- 1.1 Install Visual Studio .NET 2003 1.2 Install the Platform SDK for Windows Server 2003 SP1 April 2005 Edition or later 1.3 Create an environment variable PLATFORMSDK pointing at the location where the Platform SDK was installed example: set PLATFORMSDK=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Platform SDK SOURCE FILES AND DEPENDENCIES ----------------------------- 2.1 Check out the cvsnt module from :pserver:cvs@cvs.cvsnt.org:/usr/local/cvs on branch CVSNT_2_0_x) 2.2 Check out the cvsdeps module from :pserver:cvs@cvs.cvsnt.org:/usr/local/cvs 2.3 Create an environment variable CVSNTDEPS example: set CVSNTDEPS= VISUAL STUDIO 2003 CONFIGURATION -------------------------------- 3.1 In Visual studio Tools/Options/Projects/VC++ Directories/Include files add the following paths: $(CVSNTDEPS)\bonjour\include $(CVSNTDEPS)\howl\include $(CVSNTDEPS)\Iconv\Include $(CVSNTDEPS)\infozip $(CVSNTDEPS)\infozip\c-headers $(CVSNTDEPS)\OpenSSL\include $(CVSNTDEPS)\postgres\include $(CVSNTDEPS)\Sqlite\Include $(CVSNTDEPS)\u3 sdk\dapi 3.2 In Visual studio Tools/Options/Projects/VC++ Directories/Library files add the following paths: $(CVSNTDEPS)\bonjour\lib $(CVSNTDEPS)\howl\lib $(CVSNTDEPS)\Iconv\lib $(CVSNTDEPS)\infozip $(CVSNTDEPS)\OpenSSL\lib $(CVSNTDEPS)\postgres\lib $(CVSNTDEPS)\sqlite\lib $(CVSNTDEPS)\u3 sdk\dapi 3.3 In Visual studio Tools/Options/Projects/VC++ Directories/Include files: Add a line referencing the Windows Server 2003 SDK to the *top* of the list: $(PLATFORMSDK)\Include 3.4 In Visual studio Tools/Options/Projects/VC++ Directories/Library files: Add a line referencing the Windows Server 2003 SDK to the *top* of the list $(PLATFORMSDK)\Lib BUILDING CVSNT -------------- 4.1 Open the solution file \cvsnt.sln 4.2 Set the build type to Release in Build/Configuration Manager 4.3 Now start the build: Build/Rebuild Solution This should give you a successful build even though there are a number of warnings displayed.
