INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
                             ======================

To build and install the software, execute the following commands:

./configure
make
make install

Type ./configure --help for more detail about software configuration.


BUILDING ON MICROSOFT WINDOWS
-----------------------------

You will need to set-up the Cygwin environment on your machine. In any case,
running freescope in a Cygwin environment with rxvt is *much* more convenient
than in a DOS window with the the COMMAND.COM shell interpreter!

Once the cygwin enviornment is set-up, the build instructions are as above.
Note that if "ed" is not installed on your system, the "Change text" query
will be disabled.
