.SH "DESCRIPTION"
.IX Header "DESCRIPTION"
Games::Sequential::Position is a base class for position-classes
that can be used with Games::Sequential. This class is
provided for convenience; you don't need this class to use
\&\f(CW\*(C`Games::Sequential\*(C'\fR. It is also possible to use this class on
its own.
.SH "PURE VIRTUAL METHODS"
.IX Header "PURE VIRTUAL METHODS"
Modules inheriting this class must implement at least the
\&\f(CW\*(C`apply()\*(C'\fR method. If you chose to not use this class, you must
also implement a \f(CW\*(C`copy()\*(C'\fR method which makes a deep copy of the
object.
.IP "apply($move)" 4
.IX Item "apply($move)"
Accept a move and apply it to the current state producing the
next state. Return a reference to itself. Note that this method
is responsible for also advancing the state's perception of which
player's turn it is.
.Sp
Something like this (sans error checking):
.Sp
.Vb 2
\& sub apply {
\& my ($self, $move) = @_;
.Ve
.Sp
.Vb 1
\& ... apply $move, creating next position ...
.Ve
.Sp
.Vb 2
\& return $self;
\& }
.Ve
.SH "METHODS"
.IX Header "METHODS"
The following methods are provided by this class.
.IP "new [@list]" 4
.IX Item "new [@list]"
Create and return an object. Any arguments is passed on to the
\&\f(CW\*(C`init()\*(C'\fR method. Return a blessed hash reference.
.IP "init [@list]" 4
.IX Item "init [@list]"
Initialize an object. By default, this only means setting player
1 to be the current player.
.Sp
This method is called by \f(CW\*(C`new()\*(C'\fR. You You probably want to
override this method and initialise your position there.
.IP "copy" 4
.IX Item "copy"
Clone a position.
.IP "player [$player]" 4
.IX Item "player [$player]"
Read and/or set the current player. If argument is given, that
will be set to the current player.
