Relay FAQ ===================================================================== > Will Relay work with ? As of right now, Relay only works with Quake2. I might be able to add support for other games if they support native, binary mod extensions like dlls. ---------- > Do I really have to have control of a server to use Relay? Yes. Only the server is able to run the files needed to use Relay. ---------- > How do I get my admin dll to work with relay? It uses the > quake2/release directort but Relay needs it as well. Put the admin dll in a subdirectory under the quake2/proxy directory. Then start quake2 with: quake2 +set proxy myadmindir to use the admin module by itself, or quake2 +set proxy relay:myadmindir to use Relay and the admin module at the same time. Note that the admin module must be loaded after Relay. Example: If you use BW-Admin, put the gamex86.dll file in the quake2/proxy/bwadmin directory. Then start quake2: quake2 +set proxy relay:bwadmin Quake2 will load the Relay Proxy module in the quake2/release directory, which will look at the proxy console variable and load the Relay module, which will then load the bwadmin modile, which will then load the regular game module. ---------- > Why does my view get messed up when viewing certain players > using Replay? Most Quake2 mods that use bots create fake player slots which do not conatain valid player info. Relay will still record these slots, but they cannot be viewed through Replay.
