These are colored light data for hexen2. They require
Hammer of Thyrion 1.4.0 which has support for colored
lights and external lit files.

Go into the directory that you installed hexen2:

	cd /home/YOUR_NAME/hexen2
 or
	cd /usr/local/games/hexen2


Extract this package while you are still there:

	tar xvfz hexen2-lit_files.tgz

The "eidolon" map especially seems to be problematic.
Other than those, most maps seem OK.

These .lit files generated by version 1.2.2 of
the jsh2colour utility on linux. The program was
compiled for pentium3 with sse math optimizations
(-march=pentium3 -msse -mfpmath=sse).
