Command: import

  Format: import <file>   (command line)

          import          (mail interface)
          <address 1>
          <address 2>
          <address 3>
          <...>
          .

Reads a list of addresses from the named file (when used at the command
line) or from the mail message (when used via e-mail) into the currently
selected list. Addresses are checked for syntax or validity per the
"addrcheck" setting. Empty lines and lines starting with a hash character
("#") are ignored.

When used from the mail interface, the end of the command list or a "."
on a line by itself terminates the list. You must be a list owner to use
the command from the mail interface. Note also that the list's welcome
message (if defined) will not be sent to users so added, nor will list owners
be notified of the new subscribers if "notify" is set.

The list files are not updated if this command is issued at the command line
interface when "fast" mode is enabled, until the "update" command is
explicitly issued.
