README.TXT for iSiloXC version 4.3 (1/09/06) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The reference manual for iSiloXC can be found on the Web at: To view the command-line usage, simply start the program without any command-line arguments. Please visit the support page at the iSilo website at for frequently asked questions and knowledge base articles. If you encounter any problems or issues that are not answered in the manual or in the support section of the website, you may send an email to email@iSilo.com. When reporting problems, please include all potentially relevant details, including the exact steps used to reproduce the problem, OS version, and hardware configuration. Notes on iSiloXC for Windows ---------------------------- Assuming you have installed iSiloX, it is best to place iSiloXC.exe in the same directory so that it has HotSync(R) functionality. Without the supporting files included in the installation of iSiloX, iSiloXC can not queue converted documents for installation during HotSync(R). Notes on iSiloXC for Solaris ---------------------------- iSiloXC requires that you have the libstdc++.so.3 and libgcc_s.so.1 libraries installed. These libraries are installed on your system if you have installed GCC 3.0 or later. If you get an error message relating to either of those two libraries, then you will either need to install GCC 3.0 or later and/or set your LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable to the directory containing those libraries. After installing the libraries, you may want to add lines like the following to your login script so that the LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable is set each time you login: LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib export LD_LIBRARY_PATH The above lines assume that you have installed the libraries in the /usr/local/lib directory. Notes on iSiloXC for Mac OS X ----------------------------- This command-line version of the converter does not support automatic queueing of converted documents for HotSync(R). Conversion lists created with iSiloX for Mac OS use Macintosh style paths (e.g., with the ':' separator) while iSiloX for Mac OS X only understands POSIX style paths (e.g., with the '/' separator), so conversion lists are not directly interchangeable between the two without manual modification.
